With Freedom Come Responsibility
Diving is one of the few activities where you have complete freedom. This creates a situation that is fairly unique these days. You are totally responsible for your decisions.
There are plenty of divers that have not had the proper training and experience. They rely on dive masters and guides. This is one of the situations we have gotten ourselves into as a sport.
Diving is a serious activity that poses a significant amount of risk to the participant. I think there has been a lot of hand holding. You need to be confident, informed and trained.
Ultimately there is only one person you can 100% rely on, yourself.
